Rosscast Episode 35: "Don't Hurt 'Em, D!"

Photobucket

In this episode I go off on my punkass father. I talk about my lovely Grandma's funeral today and how I fell down twice while skating at World On Wheels lastnight. I manage to squeeze in some news about Obama, Hillary Clinton, women shooting their husbands in the nuts, and more. Enjoy!

  1. On Saturday night last, I cleaned the apartment. That's how exciting MY life is. At least you were at home on a Saturday night in Los Angeles. Anything you do in LA is automatically glamourous or interesting.

Taking pictures of a corpse at the funeral? I've never heard that. That's awful. Ugh. I've been to quite a few wakes and funerals, but have never seen that. What's the point?

I don't know your Dad, but maybe his behaviour at his mother's funeral came from his inability to deal with the shock of her death. People get strange at funerals. My grandmother was married for about fifty years and couldn't watch my grandfather's coffin being lowered into the ground. She stayed in the car while the ceremony was going on. And she was cracking jokes on the way to the grave. We were in the car right behind the hearse as it drove by my grandad's local pub where he'd drank since he'd moved to that neighbourhood, and she turned around and said 'That's the first time your grandfather has passed that pub in thirty years'. We laughed. Funerals make people act oddly. Go easy on your Dad.

There are better reasons to shoot your husband in the crotch, I agree.
