"Teenage Dirtbag" Part 3
Part 1
Part 2
Camaro stood on the front porch watching as the new neighbors son left home carrying a large gym bag. He made another mental note to research him. No one could blame him for lagging in his checking of the new guy. Between the four men he had killed the previous week and the school shooting he needed to complete he had been busy. He spent the school day dodging counselors regarding the four burned bodies found at his school and the school shootings.
He had almost made it through the day when Todd Stevens, his “girlfriend” Harriet’s ex boyfriend decided to have some fun.
Camaro was standing on the football field near the fifty yard line measuring the distance between his present location and the nearest fence in preparation for his next mission. Suddenly, with the speed of a cheetah, Todd pounced on Camaro. Rolling with the momentum, Camaro grabbed Todd’s left arm, flipped him over his hip, and slammed him to the ground. Camaro then twisted Todd’s wrist, planted his foot in his armpit, and yanked almost as hard as he could.
“Fuck!” Todd screamed. “You broke my fucking arm!” Camaro heard multiple footsteps approaching and spun just as Jason Reavers, Todd’s best friend, threw a haymaker that missed by a mile. Camaro leaned back and brought his left elbow across the bridge of his nose quickly followed by a knee to the mouth. Jason went down hard.
“Hey, asshole!” Mikhal Roshnov, a freshman with a full beard that was the size of an NFL player, swung at Camaro. Camaro blocked the punch easily and threw a hard right to Mikhal’s ribs. Mikhal heard the snap of his ribs before he felt it. Camaro turned just as Ronnie Tucker attempted a spinning roundhouse.
“Come on, bitch” Ronnie hissed as he postured. Camaro knew that he was a brown belt and could hold his own in a fight. “This ain’t gonna be as easy as it was with them.”
Ronnie feinted a low left kick and brought it high. Camaro caught his leg and snapped his ankle while simultaneously kicking his knee. Ronnie collapsed to the ground screaming.
“Hey!” Coach Loggins shouted. “Hey, kid! Don’t move!”
“I’m not” Camaro said as Coach Loggins slowed his run the closer he got to Camaro. He held his hands up and surveyed the damage surrounding him. Coach Loggins knelt down not knowing which boy to help first. “I did not start this.”
“You sure as hell ended it though!” Coach Loggins yelled. “Get to the office! I’m gonna have your ass expelled!” Camaro took a step, measured the space between where he stood and the field once more, and headed to the principals office.
As Camaro entered the building Harriet was leaving. She smiled at him and waved as if she had not seen him just forty five minutes prior. Camaro waved back feeling awkward. He hoped that she would not engage him in conversation.
“Maro!” Harriet shouted. Camaro stopped walking. “Where you going? I was looking for Todd. Oops. Sorry. I know its not cool to mention my new boyfriend to my ex boyfriend. But still, have you seen him?”
“He’s on the field” Camaro replied.
“Doing what? There’s no practice today.”
“He’s on the field” Camaro repeated and continued to the principals office.
He had met the principal, Mr. Lee, on two other occasions. One was on his first day. The next was when he, Coach Loggins, and three angry fathers confronted Camaro wondering why he refused to participate with any extracurricular activities. Camaro knocked on the door. It opened a moment later. Principal Lee had his briefcase and appeared to be in a hurry.
“Camaro!” he said surprised. “I’m just on my way out. What do you need?”
“Nothing, thank you” Camaro replied. “I was sent here by Coach Loggins.”
“Why?” he asked. “Have you decided to finally join a team?” Principal Lee raised his eyebrows higher than Camaro thought possible.
“No” Camaro replied. “I was in a physical altercation with four students.”
“When?!”
“Four minutes and thirty three seconds ago.”
“Where are they?!”
“On the field.”
“Why did you do?!”
“I defended myself.”
“You’re suspended! Three days!”
“Okay.”
