Dante Learns The 3rd Amendment

In my never ending search for truth, justice, and the American way I have moved on to finding out what the 3rd Amendment is. This is one I don’t really hear anything about and I guess its either because it doesn’t serve anyone’s purpose when it comes to doing dumb shit and hiding behind it or no one knows it exists. This one won’t take that damned long to take care of.

“No soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.”

Uh...

Now what does that mean? Pretty much that if some soldiers need a place to stay for the night they cant, like, just camp out in your place. Because that would be awkward for anyone involved. Can you imagine that shit? “Hey, uh, me and my troops are tired. Mind if we crash at your pad?” You’d probably be afraid to say no to a bunch of dirty dudes holding assault rifles.

It also means that the government cant just let troops stay in your house. You don’t have to worry about coming home from work and finding this sitting in your corner.

Awkward...

Because that would be creepy. So there you have it. The 3rd Amendment. Seems kinda stutarded but I’m guessing at some point soldiers were just bunking in folks houses like it was going out of style.
