I just got home from Vegas visiting the hotness with my best friend, Cam. On the way home we swung by a Starbucks to keep our asses charged up for the long ride home. You know how when you go to those places how they ask for your name. We all know my name is Dante, right? Yeah. In case you didn’t know that is my name. One of them. Its not my actual first name. Long story short, I discovered when I was nine years old that I had a different first name.

“The name Dante is an Italian name that originates as a shortened version of “Durante” meaning ‘enduring,’ ‘lasting’ or ‘steadfast’ stemming from the Latin ‘divans,’ which is the present participle of ‘durare’ meaning ‘to last,’ ‘to continue’ or ‘to endure.’”

To me Dante is a very simple name. As you can see from the picture not everyone agrees. This chick spelled it Dontay. This is not the first time this has happened. I have seen it spelled Dontae, Daunte, Dantay, Donte, and Dantay. I have been told many times that the way I spell it is wrong. I don’t argue with people over it. I know when I’m right.

I recently posted about the first crazy ass reoccurring dream I had that involved racecar shoes and a knife wielding monkey that killed my father. This other one that happened way too many times involved me and Apache Chief from the Super Friends cartoon. Why? I don’t know! It just did.

I don’t even like the character of Apache Chief. He grows. That’s it. You know what? I can grow too! In my pants. So anyhoot, in this dream I have the feeling that me and Chiefy (that’s my cool nickname for him) are cool with one another. I felt like we were friends. Like we bonded. He could tell that my grandmother’s were Native American’s and felt a sense of kinship with me.

Dante Wants These Cars

I don’t drive but my entire life I have been obsessed with cars. No, not regular ass cars that you see driving around all the time. I wanted stuff from movies and TV shows. This is a list of the cool ass cars that I’ve wanted my entire life but will likely never own. And for good reason because I would destroy this entire city within a matter hours.

People know good and damn well that me and nature go together like bubblegum and crackers. It’s a terrible idea but you’ve done it more than once. I write these to remind myself of why I don’t go anywhere toilets don’t flush, I cant be lulled to sleep by the sound of traffic, and why I stay the fuck out of water. Here's a little back story for this tale. Years ago Kiyoshi called me one day and said he wanted me to be in his film. He asked me to bring a cross, cigarettes, and porn. Sounds fun, huh? Well, not only was it hot as hell that day and we filmed at Griffith Park the day after it opened again after the fires. So as I chased his Japanese friend around worrying about what people would think seeing a big Black dude chasing someone, I wondered what this would look like when it was done. The reason there is no audio is because You Tube are whores and erased it. I will end up mixing this again with subtitles. Enjoy!
