While You Were Sleeping: Francis Pusok Beating

A man was recently given a beating by San Bernadino police that is usually reserved for child molesters, cop killers, and Black men. After downing the suspect, 30 year old Francis Pusok, police kneed, punched, and kicked him over 50 times while he lay on the ground. Most people have gone their entire lives without being hit that many times. Pusok got it in a minute. Punched your hand 50 times and see how tedious it is. While watching the video the first thing I noticed was the coldness of the reporter as she lets everyone know that she doesn't care about any cops that are hurt because this guy is on a horse. After the police start beating the hell out of this guy she goes silent and you just watch a guy being destroyed on live television.

Pusok was originally being pursued after a search warrant for identity death. They had a warrant and he left in a car. While being chased through Apple Valley he got out of the car and started running on foot. Someone called to say that someone stole their horse and police chased him on foot while he got away on the horse. You gotta hear the press conference where they make the cops sound like heroes for getting tired and dehydrated while chasing Pusok. Two cops were hurt. One by the horse and the other with back pains and cuts.

Not many people are talking about this story. Why? Maybe they don't know. Perhaps they don't care because the guy isn't Black. Some don't give a damn because its not an animal. Those people bother me. If the police kicked that horse one time there would be outraged. “They hit the horse?! Have their balls cut off! Have them raped in prison! Make them...what? Oh, the horse is fine? They beat a man and hit him 50 times? Oh. Okay. Poor horse must've been terrified.”

An internal investigation has been launched and the FBI has stated that they will investigate if Pusok's civil rights were violated. I'm gonna go with yes. Ten police in total have been put on paid administrative leave. Lucky them, right? In the video you see Pusok trying to get the horse to go faster and a low flying helicopter spooks it, poor horse!, and Pusok is Tasered. They say the Taser didn't work because of his loose clothing. Hey, that's a pro tip for your ass! He falls, gets up, goes down, and as one police man soccer kicks him in the head another does the same to his crotch as he lays face down in the dirt. The say he was punched 37 times, kicked 17, and hit with a baton 4.

San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon said in a statement “The video surrounding this arrest is disturbing and I have ordered an internal investigation be conducted immediately.” He also pointed out that Pusok has shot a puppy and threatened to kill cops. Character assassination is a very important part of law enforcement, people. He also talked about how it feels to be in a pursuit and how emotional levels get high. Bring in Chappie!

Pusok's lawyer Jim Terrell said “What I saw on the television was thugs beating up my client. That's what I saw. And these questions about what was he doing? What did they do? This is far worse than Rodney King.” Easy there, turbo. Use a more recent reference. Pusok later spoke of the incident saying “I thought I was being beaten to death, I was wondering, 'When is it going to stop?' The beating might've stopped but the pain never stopped. I can still feel the pain.” Of course you can. This interview was done the day after it happened.

While on the ground he says that he did not resist the police and by watching the video the only resistance that he could have done was covering his face so they would stop hitting it. He says they were “hitting me in every place that they could hit me, anywhere and everywhere.” And get this: he doesn't want any money. “I just want peace. I want to be left alone. I want to go about my life.”

I doubt that will happen. I'm not saying Pusok is some innocent guy that was just chased by cops and beaten. He is the father of three children with one more on the way. He shot a puppy in front of his family and whenever someone hurts an animal they are working their way up to people...the deadliest game

He was being investigated for identity theft and ran from police, has been arrested for fighting, and robbery in the past. But still, the ass kicking that he got from these cops was beyond excessive. Even if Pusok doesn't get any money the investigation needs to continue. I don't think his ass kicking trumps the fact that he committed a crime. But the police that were involved in this, whose names have not been released because of death threats, need to all be fired with no pay or pension. But since I'm a realistic person they will ride this out until the story fades away, Pusok will get a little bit of money for pain and suffering, and these cops will be back on the streets serving and protecting in no time.
