Keep Your Shoes On!

Seattle is a-buzz -- rightfully so -- over video footage that has surfaced of a King County Sheriff's deputy thrashing a teenage girl as she was confined in a holding cell. The beating took place November 20 of last year and was captured by a security camera. Once discovered, the video became instrumental in the misdemeanor assault case against Deputy Paul Schene. The girl in question, unnamed because she's a minor, was arrested while riding as a passenger in her parents' car. The car had been reported stolen.

The video shows Schene and Brunner as they escorted the girl into the holding cell. Schene had asked her to remove her basketball shoes, and, as she slipped out of her left shoe, she appeared to kick it at Schene. Schene then lunged through the door and kicked her, striking either her stomach or upper thigh area, court documents say. He pushed her against a corner wall before flinging her to the floor by her hair. He then squatted down on her and made "two overhead strikes," although it's unclear where the blows landed.

The detective who reviewed the video said it appeared Schene and Brunner had the girl under control when Schene struck her. Schene, who is 6 feet 2 and weighs 195 pounds, did not explain his action to investigators, court documents say. He and the girl exchanged words. Brunner said she was "real lippy" after being informed she was under arrest and called them "fat pigs."

The Sheriff's Office policy manual says deputies should use physical or deadly force only when "necessary to effect an arrest, to defend themselves or others from violence, or to otherwise accomplish police duties according to law."

I don’t know if any of you have seen the video of the attack but this girl got her ass kicked. This was a fucking beat down and I am surprised she was able to stand afterwards.

At first I didn’t know what she had done to piss him off so much. After seeing it I was like, “Damn. I have done worse to my brothers…” She kicked her shoes off and they hit his legs. Not hard. They just hit them. Yes, we all know you’re not supposed to attack a cop no matter what. No matter how badly they are beating your ass you’re not supposed to resist arrest. But he kicked her and then slammed her head into the wall. Then he flung her down and started MMA wailing on her with overhead strikes.

After that…Oh, I forgot. After she was flung to the ground she was handcuffed. The overhand punches were given as she was on her stomach. When did it start taking two cops to get a 15 year old girl on the ground? Okay, where was I? So after punching her they snatch her off the ground by her hair and lead her away. I have some questions.

1. How does it feel to be such a pussy?

2. Is this the kinda thing they thought they’d do when they graduated from the police academy?

3. Did that shoe hurt that much?

4. How about the fact that this same cop was involved in a shooting a couple years ago where he was attacked and shot someone 11 time? That is not a typo. 11.

5. How much time will her get for this shit?

If he is convicted he will get a year in jail maximum. This quote of "necessary to effect an arrest, to defend themselves or others from violence, or to otherwise accomplish police duties according to law” scares the shit out of me and answers so many questions at the same time. Now I get why that dude in New York was shot 40-something times while reaching for his wallet. Now I know why Rodney King had his ass handed to him for drunk driving. I get why a man attacking with a rake can be pumped full of lead and killed. And now I get why a 15 year old can get manhandled for kicking a shoe at a cop. This is deadly force being authorized. And that, my friends, is not cool.

Rockets.
