Rosscast Episode 38: The One About The 80's!!!

Photobucket

In this episode I talk about what I miss most about growing up in the 80's from video games, cartoons, television, and that thing that we all used to mess around with: human contact. Enjoy!

I prefer texting to talking on the phone. I'm a written word person. I use my phone for making arrangements to meet people for a proper face-to-face chat, or just to have a slow-moving conversation. Texting/mobile phones are so handy for making arrangements, I remember having to plan so much in advance to meet up with people before 2001, when I finally got me a phone (landlines are ludicrously expensive so I didn't have one after I left home). The mobile has really freed me, I feel.

I think turning off the phone for a day is a great idea. I'm hoping to go on holidays in September for a couple of weeks and will do just that. Not sure if I'll be able to do it...I anticipate a lot of twitching, and imagining that I hear the 'text received' tone...
