Rosscast Episode 12: The Drowning Pool

Photobucket

In this episode I babble about taking care of your damned kids, why you can't blame doggie doors, Miss California, cencorship, and older men dating younger chicks. I noticed that for some reason there is an extra 2 minutes after the podcast. Ignore it. There's nothing there. Enjoy!

I def. agree with you about not being able to speak your mind freely. Sadly, you are right about the way things are heading where its going to be less and less likely that people are going to speak their minds. Revellations talks about Christian being pursecuted for speaking their minds... I'm sure it'll extend to just anyone that speaks their mind if thir thoughts are against those of the crowd. Anyway, really great podcast sir!

I couldn't believe the amount of hate directed at that beauty queen person over voicing her opinion. My so-called liberal friends were saying how, as a state rep, she had no right to say such prejudiced things, but when I point out she was asked a direct question, they change the subject.

And the amount of shit that's been thrown at her since...I'd call it nothing less than persecution, and I know how strong a word that is. I don't like to get in a flap about things like this as they're generally a storm in a tea-cup, but really, the stuff that's been said and publicised about this woman is horribly unfair, and has a strong dose of misogyny in it, particularly from women.

On the other hand, she does seem to have a talent for self-promotion that could rival Perez Hilton's. Lucky for her she's thick-skinned and seems to thrive on the controversy. But the whole thing has revealed a very ugly side to American liberalism.

Sigh. Here I am, a feminist liberal, defending the right of a dollybird to be a bigot. Modern society depresses me.

You're not being a bigot at all. The way people are treating her is stutarded. And women always jump on women harder than any guy can. Perez Hilton counts as a woman. It's so silly to be so upset with someone for giving their opinion.

And DAM (love you!), the fact that everyone is being cencored left and right makes me depressed. I cant understand how people can sit and yell about freedom of speech. It should say "Freedom of speech...if we like what we hear."
