Kids These Days 8

There are a lot of people that aren’t into anime. I am. Before I knew it had an actual name when I was little I used to just call them Japanese cartoons. Many of the cartoons I loved growing up like Robotech and Voltron are anime. I’m wearing a Voltron shirt right now actually. But there is a darker side to anime. Just shit tons of porn with juices and all kinds of weird shit. But still, anime rules. Except when people decide to do it in real life.

Aah! Aah! Kill it with fire!

This isn’t like regular ass cosplay which can be ridiculously hot. This chick that I saw on Yahoo! creeps me right the fuck out. This dame does her face up to look like an anime chick and I shit you know if I saw this in a forest I would run harder than I ever have in my life! “Oh, Dante. I am the magical fairy of…” F-f-f-f-fuck yooooooooooouuuuuu!!!

She has the ability to make my pants change colors.

I would rather my kid get a piercing in their neck than some nonsense like this. I’m sure it is expensive as hell and it doesn’t even look cool. You know what does? Steampunk shit. Goddamn, I wish we could walk around wearing steampunk arms. But this non-functional looking style seems to be getting popular with the young girls and I just imaine some parents sitting in the sexless bed at night going “Somebody touched our daughter when she was little. I don’t know who or when but that’s the only explanation I have for this bullshit.” You know who else looks like a cartoon character? This guy.

You have no idea how much laughter this image brought me.

I’ll wait for you to finish laughing. Kids, if you’re gonna dress up like a cartoon character at least make it a superhero. Dress like Batman or something. I’ll have more respect for a kid walking around growling at people wearing a cape then some girl wearing so much makeup that drag queens are like “Whoa! Whoa…”

I never made the leap from childhood cartoons to anime. At a convention of Japanese culture in France a few years ago, I encountered my first cosplay fans, and there's a hell of a lot of creative talent put into those costumes. Definitely not my thing though. There was a mixed tag wrestling match between some wrestlers in cosplay and that was both odd and fun to watch (I would have been seriously tempted to snap bra straps and pull up those short skirts if I had been involved, but no, they played it straight..!).

That girl is creepy as fuck. But I have to admit I'm impressed with it.

Ah steampunk. I got some gorgeous steampunk jewellery at the Discworld convention in England recently...I love brass and glass and clockwork and and only this week I've been invited to a burlesque event for next month so I will get to flaunt it. Woowoo!

I love that you think she is creepy as well. I know that there is a lot of time and talent that goes into it, but damn if it doesn't give me the heebies looking at her.

I love steampunk stuff so much. It just looks amazing. I wish I had some kind of jewelry or something. But it would have to be massive. And scary.
