Hello, everyone. Once again I am back to present a segment from my now complete Rosscast Show. This one was called We Going To Hell which seems pretty self explanatory. Whether or not you believe in an actual hell, there are times when we need to tell someone to go there, burn there, or rot there. I troll the internets for stories where people do things that are just so damned ridiculous that they make us as humans look silly. Like a promotion that was going to throw a part on Martin Luther King Day that was centered around twerking.

In Michigan an
event called “Freedom 2 Twerk” was going to be held on MLK
weekend until the owner of the venue, Vincent McEwen, got a gander at
the fliers that were being used for the event showing a photoshopped
MLK throwing up a “west side” sign and wearing a gold chain along
with a chick just happy as all get out to be a part of this historic
event. The promoter of the event apparently thought noting was wrong
with using MLK's image to promote a twerking based event because fuck
using your head.
This reminds me
of a story from back in September or so when this mother used that
whole public humiliation thing to shame her daughter for twerking at
a school dance. Frances Hena who lives in Bakersfield told her 11
year old daughter Jamie to cut that shit out and gave her a sign to
hold up on a street corner so people driving by could laugh at a
mother being mad at her daughter for twerking at a school dance but
allowing her to wear cut off shorts.
“That’s ridiculous to even think that’s okay at a school dance. When she’s 18, she can do whatever she wants. As of right now, that’s not something she’s going to be doing.” I know lots of parents say that but that is under the assumption that your kid is gonna be out of the house by 18 which as everyone should know by now is not a thing that happens anymore. It just doesn't. Its hard to find work, parents tell their kids that they are number one no matter what, and kids know that their parents won't kick them out for doing drugs or whatever.

Public shaming is
not a new thing. People used to be all about back in the day. Have
someone tied up in the town square and throw old lettuce and tomatoes
at them. Now parents make kids hold up signs. I am of two minds when
it comes to this shaming stuff. On the one hand, kids need to realize
that they can't just do whatever the hell they want because most kids
are stupid and will do stupid things if you leave them alone. But
then shaming them publicly is a form of bullying which everyone seems
to be all against.
How do you feel about parents having kids shamed to the world? Do you think it will deter kids from embarrassing themselves and their families or do you think it will just make kids act out even more?

I don't think shaming children teaches them anything, except being ashamed of something they don't always really understand. If this kid is a show-off, channel it, give her the opportunity to be a dance star, a sports star. Explain to her that twerking is trashy. Explain why she is worth more and deserves more than cheap attention from people who are probably laughing at her anyway. Don't fucking traumatize the poor thing. I get that it's hard to raise an 11 year old in a sexualised culture and I think it sucks that you might have to explain to your eleven year old how to be a self-respecting young woman when she really shouldn't have to worry about being a woman for another three or four long, long years (when you're that age). She definitely should be made aware that twerking is trashy. But she shouldn't be made feel that she's trashy, and I think this is all that does. Makes me mad. And very sad for her.
Me and Quinno started looking at what the mother was wearing and we have come to the conclusion that she was probably doing far worse than the daughter at her age. Think of the shit our parents did to us when we were little that we still remember to till this day.

I'm sure that her daughter did this at home in front of her mom and likely with her and her mom thought it was cute. She was just ashamed that other people saw her doing it. 11 seems to be the new 15 and when you do the ridiculous kid math that means that she will look, behave, and think she is 21.
